I don’t think it’s a mystery at all why it falls so high in their algorithm. Surely, as such a divisive issue this will be a very important aspect of a match. Whereas a beard will be much less important as it is, for one, it’s not as divide, and secondly, you can tell whether someone has a beard by looking at their picture so answering the question is less relevant.
