Flipping over boundaries

During the spring of 2016 I participated in a poetry exchange with students from CAPA, an arts charter school in Pittsburgh. I got the chance to hang out with a group of exceptionally talented high school students and talk about life, school, and sometimes poetry.
I was also paid by the English department to create the program’s chapbook: a collection of poems written during the program to be given out to the students and their parents at the final reading.
The title — Boundary Street — comes from the name of a street we crossed to reach each other’s school. As a visual riff on the idea of breaking boundaries, I designed the chapbook’s cover to wrap around the spine; unfolding into a table of contents, program for the final reading, and poster for the students to remember us by.
