Dear Trump Supporter who says they love me,
Amanda Deibert

This is a fantastic piece.

Trump supporters often look at what Trump is supposedly going to do to improve their lives, such as jobs (he’s not bringing them), health care (fees are going to skyrocket as the risk pool inevitably shrinks without Obamacare), and national security (an aggressive, unilateral foreign policy has yet to do any wonders for the United States). However, Trump supporters ignore the fact that by voting for him, the legitimized a perverse, right-wing government that will have the power to develop policies that could actually cripple lives.

But Trump supporters are generally “conservative” at heart — meaning they are less likely to care about those that they don’t know. It is unfortunate that these supporters fail to recognize the full breadth of what they legitimized, what they have now allowed to be considered normal, and the consequences that will brought of it in the years to come.
