Our education infrastructure is not adequately preparing students for the looming economic upheaval; here, too, AI systems could chip in where teachers are spread too thin.
The AI Takeover Is Coming. Let’s Embrace It.

It’s tempting to rely on new technology to solve problems in education. I’m not against technology, but we should think hard about its purpose and remember that healthy development for a person is about so much more than learning content. We need to invest resources (our time, energy, physical space, et cetera) into having face-to-face conversation on a frequent and intentional basis. (Even when “productive” isn’t a word to describe this.) We HAVE to learn empathy and robots will never do the job. Thanks, Sandra, for the piece.
