How to Live in the Moment

I am not a person who lives in the moment. I try to, but mostly fail. This post is entirely written for myself, in the way that helps me the most. I wanted to share it because I think others might gain from my constant self-reminders on how to live in the moment. Enjoy!

  • To be present
  • To be apathetic about things relating to the self
  • To be more concerned with others than yourself
  • To realize the immensity of the universe, and how everything has been done before
  • To be authentic, acting on what is truly important to you
  • To foster excellence in everything you do
  • To give it away
  • To practice kindness to yourself, not being so critical of your own thoughts
  • To realize that whatever it is, it’s not that important
  • To find enjoyment in everything
  • To be thankful
  • To say yes to everything that happens
  • To cultivate the virtues — Humility, Curiosity, Gratitude, Justice
  • To be absorbed in your surroundings — the sights, sounds, smells, and feelings
  • To love life
