Troy, thanks for reading, and thanks for your comment. I think our difference in opinion comes from our different goals for youth basketball. If my goal was to win games at all costs at the youth level, I agree, recruiting shooters or players who had physically developed sooner would be the route to go. Instead, I believe long term development is the goal at that age and stage. Therefore, playing a game that naturally incentivizes them to nurture good habits is a higher priority for me. Man to man defense offers an accountability that zone does not, it also requires more movement from the defenders for those reasons I believe it is the way to develop a youth basketball player. #StayUp
