Amsterdam, Netherlands

Horror house, breakfast, and bike lanes — This one is well well overdue. Marco, Fraz, and I were in Amsterdam for a bit in late 2018. We ended up having a great time wandering around the canals and shops of the city in late November as it was just starting to be decorated for Christmas. One of…

Tromsø, Norway

Dog sledding and Northern Lights — I headed up north of the Arctic circle in the winter of 2019 to check some things off the bucket list. I was hoping to dogsled and see the northern lights, but 4 days straight of snow meant the lights were pretty much off the table, luckily, the dogs more…

Tallinn, Estonia

My first European Christmas Market — Tallinn was one of those cities where I could legitimately move to and be happy living there. Old town is so beautiful and there are so many pubs and mid-evil places to explore that it is just a seemingly never ending maze of happiness. …

Hamburg, Germany

A long weekend with Andrea in Hamburg! — My friend Andrea had extended an offer for me to visit her in Germany so I had a long weekend while I was over in Europe and took her up on it. While she was working the first few days I had a bunch of long walks around the city. Mostly doing a few laps around Aussen Alster. There are honestly too many outstanding food places to name in Hamburg. I don’t think I had a single bad meal the entire time I was there. I will say a special shout out to Cheesecake Heaven — Der Käsekuchenladen for the incredible dessert and to Restaurant Im Sprinkenhof for the incredible schnitzel and mash.

Helsinki, Finland

An afternoon of museums and beer and puppies — One weekend day I took a ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki with my Estonian/Hungarian/Scottish friend Monika to explore the city. We didn’t spend a lot of time there but I did have a few notes to get out. First off, wow is it expensive! …

Belgrade, Serbia

A Month in the Balkans Biggest City — Personally, I was just excited to get back to a big city after a few months in a quiet beach town. Finally there were tons of people, basketball games, pubs, and a modern art museum. My favorite areas oof the city are Ada Island, The Fortress, and The Bohemian district…

Lake Skadar

A beautiful drive around a beautiful lake — I made this drive a few times but I would recommend you take this route and when you see a photo spot to stop, have at it. There is also a tiny little shack with smoothies and snacks about halfway around. You’ll see it. Anyway, here is the driving route for peak scenery, Enjoy! https://goo.gl/maps/YLuW2VAM98FgRyUh7

London, England

A night out with the lads — When Phil comes across the pond, its time to go to London. Fraz, Marc, and I traveled down to explore the city for the day and night. We walked along the river, ate some quality (by London standards) food. And found a good spot for some evening brews. I found…

Krakaw, Poland

A Long Weekend in Poland — This one will be short and sweet. Fraz, MarcO, and I spent a 5 day weekend in Krakaw. We filled our time with wandering around the city, having drinks in the main square, and eating pierogies. Fraz felt connected to his people (he’s Polish) and Marc had a good time…

Lyon, France

A few months in France’s food capitol — Lyon is a wonderful, vibrant, mid sized city in central France. It was the first place in years that I lived away from home and it was great thanks to me finding some amazing groups of friends. The Liverpool supporters at The Wallace were extremely welcoming and made me feel…
