All very true.

While I completely understand where you’re coming from, I still can’t quite agree. Especially for fields like engineering where the field A) desperately needs more graduates than can currently make it through and B) requires an innate curiousity and creativity when solving problems. This is definitely evident in all of the graduate engineering students I know, but, as I said, I also know many students who were amazing in their passion for solving those problems but whose confidence and will to continue were shattered by a few classes whose difficulty is completely artificial. I don’t think learning needs to be a side-effect of an undergraduate degree, it needs to be the focal point of it.
