Don’t make me leave! This trip is one of the best things to have happened. While the city was bustling per usual, I had no requirements to be anywhere specific. Atlanta is full of little gems, scattered and usually hidden. Also, what’s up with the whole FaceTiming in public thing? Not even holding the phone so you can see the other person… Is this just an Atlanta thing or?
Lenox Square — Atlanta, GA
TopMan, Zara, Urban Outfitters, American Apparel… Need I go on? Lenox Square (and the surrounding area) is one of those places that offers things you typically don’t find in your hometown. First of all, I experienced TopMan for the first time and that in itself was an out of body experience.
This was also the first time I experienced American Apparel in the flesh and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. The store was just as I imagined and for once the men’s section was just as big as the women’s! What a time. 10/10 would recommend.
Cheesecake & Cupcakes — Atlanta, GA
A staple for any trip Becca and I go on, Cheesecake Factory is like home for us. We always get the Mac & Cheese balls and gasp in the heavenly powers they bring to our tastebuds. This dinner was complete with a live performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” by some random lady and fun magic tricks with utensils from the table next to us.
Sprinkles cupcakes. The experience I never knew how much I needed. Not even stepping foot in the store, Becca and I just wanted to use the cupcake ATM. I mean hello! It’s an ATM that delivers cupcakes!! Such a neat concept and such delicious cupcakes.
Troye Sivan — Variety Playhouse, GA
So this is the part of the post where I cry a little bit because I shared the same air as Troye. Honestly though, such a great performance and such a welcoming vibe. If you ever get the chance to see Troye Sivan live, take it. You definitely won’t regret it. Plus, he rapped the entirety of Nicki Minaj’s part in “Monster”, so there’s that.
Chrome Yellow — Old Fourth Ward
God bless. Chrome Yellow Trading Co. is that place I wish I had back at home. White brick walls, wooden tables, and industrial chairs. This place introduced me to a damn good Black Tea Vanilla Latte. Phenomenal. There was also an attached store that was right up my ally with design and fashion. If you’re ever in Atlanta and enjoy the occasional caffeine, this is the place for you.
Here’s To More
I am so incredibly fortunate and blessed to be able to travel to these places with my best friend, @beccahidalgo. Without her, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I have a disposable camera filled with memories that have yet to be revealed. I can’t wait for the next journey.
