1. “Technology is more important than religion in today’s world.” What are your thoughts and comments?

The statement is reasonable and, to some degree, justified in my opinion. As taboo as it may sound, consideration should be given to the level of devotion human beings bestow upon their ‘personal computers’. I believe this devotion is warranted. Previously, the adjectives omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent would be reserved for deities and other spiritual beings. However, now the human being tends towards these adjectives at an alarming pace owing to his technologies. That is to say: technology (like the advances in telecommunications) allows the human to be anywhere he wishes, to speak to whomever he desires; technology (like online media) allows the human to know all things, providing he simply searches/ask; technology (like engines) allow the human to be as powerful as the limits of the laws of nature allow him. It would then seem that humans of today and tomorrow are perhaps obligated — morally obligated even — to innovate newer technologies so that they no longer live below full potential — to suffer, or to lack understanding. The humans that lived before the modern technological revolution — the age of electricity and the internet — had great need for religion and belief systems. At that time, whenever you could not know/do, you had to believe/have faith. Now the human has the tools to know and do more, thus effectively retiring the pillars primitive religion is built on i.e., belief and faith.

2. What do you think are the main dangers of Technology advances? Do you think we need to protect societies from these dangers?

It would appear to me that the main dangers of technological advances are in its antecedents. In other words, the dangers of technological advancement are the terrible conditions that exists before — or so that — innovation begins. For example, the threat of World war I and II can be credited for the need of and then massive innovation in high-speed jet engines. Another example is the tragedy of the Covid19 pandemic which can be credited for the need of and then massive innovation in mRNA technology. I do not believe there is much we should or even can do to protect ourselves from this phenomenon. Following a truth that outdates literate man, “In tough times, Heroes rise”.
