You don’t cut out a certain macronutrient
It seems like whenever you’re reading about a new diet, there is one food or food group that gets demonised and you can no longer eat that food. Most people will lose weight following this diet for a while but when they go back to their normal way of eating the weight slowly comes back on. Since Intermittent Fasting isn’t a diet, you aren’t taking all of your carbs or fats away and you’re not going to stop eating pizza, you’re just going to figure out how to have those things during the eating window. No, you won’t be able to eat a whole pizza every day and lose weight, but you can still have a few slices.
Let’s say that you want to go out with your friends for dinner on Saturday night and they want to go for pasta and ice cream. You know this food is going to be heavy in both carbs and fats so what do you do? You can simply do a longer fast and wait until dinner time. This way you haven’t consumed any calories during the day and that pasta and ice cream might only be a combination of 1300–1600 calories which means if you’re the average male you’ll still be under the number of calories you need in order to lose weight.
It’s really as simple as that
