Lift Heavy

Lifting heavy weights is going to greatly increase the number of calories you’re burning and also how much muscle you build. When you’re able to lift more weight your muscle mass is going to increase and that means you’re going to increase your metabolic rate.

The reason this happens is that it takes more energy to keep muscle than it does fat, so the body has to work harder every day to keep that muscle mass.

Heavy lifting also means you have to use more muscles and that means you will be burning more calories doing an exercise.

Pro Tip 1 — Do Full body movements as opposed to isolation (Squats instead of leg extensions, Barbell Bench Press instead of dumbbell fly’s etc.)

Pro Tip 2 — In order to lift heavier means you need to do less reps, focus on doing reps between the 6–10 range for your full body exercises.

Pro Tip 2 — Always aim to increase the amount of weight you use on an exercise or the number of repetitions each time you train.
