Stop Chasing Lean

I don’t like the idea that a lot of people are on the “trend” of getting as lean as they can at the moment.

Everyone wants to get lean for the gram but the question is why?

Most of you have chosen to do it because you see everyone else in your feed doing it.

The people you look up to are quite lean and look fantastic and you want to achieve the same.

But again the question is why?

Being lean just for the sake of being lean isn’t always a good goal and can take away from a lot of things.

If your career is not physique focused then I’d recommend you to not chase getting as lean as possible.

If you’re someone who’s already in a healthy body fat range (lower than 24% for females and about 15% and lower for males) then again I urge you to ask yourself why.

The leaner you try to get, the harder it can be to maintain.

You are also trading off things like:

- Libido

- Energy

- Mood

- Food focus

- Socialising

- Appetite

- Performance

- Sex hormone health

- Bone health

Again if this isn’t your job, it can be quite hard to achieve the lean physique you want AND keep it.

Most people (in my opinion) would be better if that sat a little bit heavier than their “ideal” physique because you will get so much more out of life.

Remember there’s so much more to your life than just your physique, especially if this isn’t your career.
