1 min readNov 11, 2015
This week’s poem is “Self-Portrait” by A. K. Ramanujan, an Indian poet and scholar of Indian literature. After his death, he won the Sahitya Akademi Award for his collection of poems, “The Collected Poems.”
Self-Portrait
by A. K. Ramanujan
I resemble everyone
but myself, and sometimes see
in shop-windows despite the well-knownlaws of optics,
the portrait of a stranger,
date unknown,
often signed in a corner
by my father.
