Hello.

Why Uber for Ed Reform?

Why, hey there. Pleased to meet you. Thanks for stopping by.

When I say “Uber for Ed Reform”, it’s not a metaphor. (Though I’ve used that allusion — big time.) It means driving a car in Cleveland to pay to transform US schools.

First, allow me to introduce myself: I may be the world’s foremost expert in the future of high school. (I may not be; we need to run an experiment to see).

What that means, in part, is that I’ve put in the time. You probably know Malcolm Gladwell’s maxim about 10,000 hours to be an expert? I’m there. And more.

My compensation for all that work? For those 10,000-plus hours of education research, experiment, and innovation?

To date, I’ve been paid Thirty Two Dimes.

(Less expenses).

The reasons I Uber for Ed Reform:

  1. Teens deserve my best working hours, the part of the day where my brain in most in flow. (Here’s Why.)
  2. I need the money for gas to travel to things like EdCamps and RemakeLearning events.
  3. To pay the basic bills.
  4. The teens deserve my best working hours.

While I have other paying gigs, each has ebbs and flows. Uber, poor paying as it is, offers instant opportunities to fill in some of the gaps.

I’d love for you to say hello in the responses.
