KEEP PUSHING! #1
I have heard of and seen people quit doing something they love doing because someone said something hurtful/not so encouraging about it or because someone made a wrong move without considering how passionate you are about what you are doing. If you are one of those people, I want to encourage you and let you know that I know exactly what that feels like. Sometime last year, I almost quit writing. This is why....

I met someone and we became friends. This someone was way older than me and then I was in my final year. There was a series I started writing called "my childhood memories" and I was excited about it so I decided to share it with someone before posting it. After much thought, I walked up to this older friend and I told this person to have a look at it and share his thoughts. He looked through it and laughed then he said "This is rubbish. Who wants to know about your (the f-word) childhood memories. You are a (the f-word again) nobody. Nobody will read this". The painful part wasn't the fact that he used his words to kill my excitement or that he laughed. The painful part was when he called a friend of his and went like "see this girl. She thinks she can write" and they laughed together. I cried all night that day.

I almost didn't post that story but thank God for Theresa. She spoke to me and encouraged me. She held my hand and told me my write-ups are very good. The next morning I went ahead and posted that story and the reactions I got were more than amazing... I felt lifted again and I kept on writing.

A few days ago, I posted something here and "this friend" who almost killed my passion for writing commended my write-up saying it was good. That was little but it meant alot coming from someone who tried to discourage me. I am not where I want to be yet but I am not where I used to be. From last year till now, I have gotten better at what I love doing; Writing.

Now, I am taking a cue from Theresa and I want to tell you to KEEP PUSHING. If they say you are not good at it, don't stop; keep trying until you are the best. If you can think it, you can do it.
I am on your side!
God bless you.
