I think most commenters here are missing the point that the OP was looking for a Front End Developer role. The priorities are different, the challenges are different and the problems are different. I have been building teams for close to a decade now in multiple teams, across multiple companies I have worked in. I do agree that for some who is going to be writing the friend-of-friends network module in a social networking application will probably definitely use the CS algorithms to solve complex issues. But, when you are a FE developer, the problems you focus on and solve are very different. And most of the time, they do not need the knowledge of algorithms for that.
