The career developers who work with the students who are moving from their college to a new workplace must be aware of the need for coaching and all the information must be up-to-date. To coach a college student effectively and support them in their careers may look easy but it is a tough job indeed as the career coaches must keep their knowledge updated and keep on learning more information about the workforce and stay comprehensive and practical.

Career Coaching is like a partnership between the career coach and an individual where the former assists the latter in identifying their goals and achieve it soon. In brief, career development coaching includes a wide variety of activities which may assist people with career-related challenges.

A relationship between a coach and an individual can take many forms. It may be carried through face to face sessions, over phone communication, email texting, or by video calls but the key to successful coaching is to keep communicating over a period of time. Career coaching may have two kinds of sessions- including groups or individually.

Benefits of Career Coaching

A career coach anxiously listens and observes the words of the individual and customizes the individual to know about their working needs and his or her strategies to move forward for his or her work life.

A career coach can work with the individual in various steps during the work search process as the coach will thoroughly examine if the work is fulfilling the individual’s needs which includes career goal setting, clarification, preparing for interviews and researching options. This also helps the individual to focus and decide what job is suitable for them. The career coach asks the individual to be competitive as well as attentive. The career coach also develops his speech and behaviour if the individual is coming to a new country and looking for a job, hence career development coaching also provides various courses on languages like French, English, Dutch, Spanish, and Italian and so on. Finally, the career coach will find the most suitable and best job for the individual. Career Coaches visit the individual’s workplace to see if the workplace is perfect and has a suitable environment for the individual.
