Iceland, who knew?

My latest adventure had a slight detour: Iceland. After a friend “coincidentally” mentioned that certain Icelandic airlines run layover deals, I thought I’d check it out for my next trip to England.

I didn’t know much about the country other than it is home to the Blue Lagoon and the Northern Lights in the winter months. I also didn’t know that it’s expensive as hell there…seriously…no joke. For a regular burger and fries: $30. Damn. So naturally, I looked to couch surf since accommodations were also pricey.

After contacting several hosts with unsuccessful results, I happened upon a guy who agreed to host me for the short time I’d be there. Now, for those of you who followed along on my trip to Bali in May, you’ll remember that I had one less-than-desirable couch surfing experience (if you missed it or need a recap, see my post “My Trip to Bali, June 10th”…which will be good background for the rest of this story). So, I was a little nervous about how this new host would work out.

When I arrived early that morning, he picked me up at the bus station and dropped me back at his place while he went work. He seemed quiet and reserved and his place was very small (think basement studio with interior walls). And as he showed me around, I began to think “hmm, this could end badly…this is where my body would be chopped up and put in a deep freezer of ice and no one would know where to find me because I didn’t think to let anyone know who I was staying with.” But, I pushed those thoughts aside, asked my angels for guidance and let the fear dissipate. A few minutes later, he left for work and I took a nap. As I was falling asleep, I suddenly decided to check my phone that was laying above my head on the arm of the couch. Lo and behold, what do I see?? You guessed it: a little white feather 😊 (the June 10th post explains this significance).

Upon seeing my feather, I was instantly calmed and knew that all would be well. My host arrived home during the lunch hour and took me sightseeing around Reykjavik. He offered to take me on a hike that led to some hot springs instead of me shelling out unnecessary dough on the touristy blue lagoon.

The hike was great and the hot springs river was so lovely. Here’s a picture on our way to the river.

As we chilled in the river, my host and I began to talk about our life experiences. Turns out, he was also a reiki practitioner like myself and had aura readings in the past. Who knew?! Coincidence? I think not 😉. He then asked about my intuitive life coaching and what kinds of services I would offer to people. I told him of my plans to offer spiritual healing retreats around the world. Since he used to be a tour guide (who knew?!) in northern Iceland, he was able to give me advice on scenic locations, bed and breakfasts and activities to do as part of my retreats. Who knew that my brief stop over in Iceland would end up connecting me with someone who be a plethora of knowledge for an idea that I had been swirling around for the past month…who knew?!

Later that evening, when I turned in to bed at half past midnight (the sun set at 10:40pm), I found myself wide awake at 2:45am. I took the opportunity to meditate on what my international workshops would look like. Immediately, my mind was downloaded with ideas, topics, and breakout sessions for workshops in various destinations around the world. But since I had to be up in 3 hours to catch my flight to London, I asked Spirit to keep the ideas clear so that I could write them out on the plane.

On my flight, the workshop details for Bali, Cambodia and Iceland that had come to me during my meditation came back to logistical fruition with ease. It also occurred to me that I had made friendships with people in these countries that could easily help me set everything up. Damn…who knew it would be this easy?

This brought me back to the reading that I referenced in my “Synchrodestiny Manifested” post a few weeks ago: that moving forward, things would be easy and would flow; that my time of struggling was over. With each passing week, I’m reminded that this is my Truth now — my personal mantra, so to speak.

As I write this, I’m now in England: here to study a course to sharpen my spiritual gifts. The next week will be life changing, as have been each of the times I’ve come before. And don’t you worry, I’ll be sure to write about what happens 😊.

Over the next week, I challenge you to be open to and acknowledge your “who knew?” moments. How many times have things pleasantly surprised you? Did you take the time to see how these “who knew” moments are lining up with (and supporting) your true desires about vibrating higher and forsaking all that no longer serves you?

Stay blessed and see you on the next leg of the journey! And if you’d be interested in joining for an international spiritual retreat in the near future or a half-day workshop in the southern California area, I can be reached at
