We know you’ve had questions, and we know we’ve been elusive. It can be challenging for projects to begin sharing their plans. Still, the time has come to share our future with a successful sellout finally accomplished. Below, we hope to articulate our academic mission for what you can expect from us as an organization in the near and long term.
Remember, some new opportunities for holders are never off the table; we will always continue to explore great utility offers to you as holders because what NFT project has ever wanted a low floor price. We will build, measure, and learn together here over time. And your trust in us to execute on this is what we thrive on. Ugly Alpha Program
Spearheaded by none other than our own Harrison Zeldin, we will launch our own Ugly Alpha Group. Ugly people alpha will include WL giveaways, alpha calls, alpha chat channels, alpha VC, and more! Stay tuned to our Discord for more information in a dedicated announcement post!
Ugly People: Honorary Collection
Our honorary collection will be an ever-evolving masterpiece of custom PFP caricatures from projects and people we collaborate with, public figures, team members, and more. Some of our most active community members will have a shot at their own custom 1/1 for the collection! Stay tuned for more details in the following weeks.
Airdrop(s)
At this time, we are not prepared to share too many details about our Airdrop. What we CAN share with you today is just a little clue… When did you look in the Mirror? Who exactly do you see? We see you as you are, but whom do you see standing in your reflection…?
Ugly Supernode Access
As you may already know, our friends over at JustCubes will be setting us up with our very own Ugly Supernode later this week. Please see the following announcement post for more information!
What is a Supernode? Imagine the ETH Mainnet is a highway. Any on-chain action requires the use of the ETH Mainnet. A Supernode would be our private lane on this hypothetical highway! The immediate utility this would provide include: improved TX speeds, more effortless sniping ability, & help in securing hype mints.
When will the Supernode be ready to use? The Supernode should be operational later this week!
How do I access the Supernode? We will be having a separate category with all necessary information, videos, and tutorials to utilize this feature properly. You will need to collab.land to access this category to get the “@Uglynode” role. Our frens @JustCubes have even offered to join us in an AMA to answer any remaining questions! Giveaways
You can expect lots of exciting and fantastic giveaways going forward. These will work in different ways, such as tournament games, NFT/ETH giveaways, custom ugly people shoes, physical paintings from our artist, and maybe even a Torrealba custom wrapped car lottery!
Upcoming Charity Functions
We have always believed that we must pay it forward from the start of this project. And we intend to honor that! You can expect charitable contributions, events, and auctions from our company to organizations hand-picked by our artist himself. At this time, here are two promising organizations that Jorge has already chosen to work with together!
Bittersweet Farms is the first farmstead-based program for adults with autism in the United States. We want to work with Bittersweet Farms for their outstanding commitment to helping those whom society has, at times, not understood. They know how to unlock potential, and we recognize their efforts to be aligned with our values.
Angels for Humanity is the go-to charity that personifies the joy of giving to children and consistently distributes close to 10,000 toys, among other resources, annually to underprivileged children around the world. This organization is very much aligned with our mission of helping people. We seek to work with them to support these efforts in Venezuela.
And in the long term…
Torrealba™ Fashion Brand
It has, from the start, always been our vision to evolve Jorge’s Torrealba™ brand into a large-scale, art-driven fashion brand. We want to be that next artist turned fashion mogul brand, and we believe we have what it takes to achieve this with our artist. This brand would be available to the general public, of course. Still, only holders will have access to private collections, which are not open to the general public. And with even some small-batch collections, entirely for free to our ugly holders!
Marketplace
In addition to our longer-term goal to position Torrealba™ as a premium fashion brand, we will release dedicated collections of Ugly People™ branded products such as shirts, hoodies, crewnecks, hats, and beanies, joggers, leggings, and more. But outside of just your typical swag offerings, our marketplace will be more exclusively accessible to our holders. Via wallet verification, only holders will have access to particular custom shoes, physical painting, high-quality canvas prints of your NFTs, tickets to ugly private events, passes to hang out with the artist in NYC with full accommodations, mystery boxes, Nano Ledger S and X’s, custom 1/1’s NFTs outside of the primary collection and more! The possibilities are truly endless. Details about how you can redeem these marketplace products and services are still TBD.
Ugly People™ Charity Foundation
In the short term, we want to help people right away, but in a long time. We plan to establish our very own charitable foundation. The foundation will be an evergreen goal to continue helping those in need and raising more funds for ugly people worldwide.
IRL Ugly People™ Events
Now that we are funded, our budget includes things for parties, art exhibits, NFT trade shows and conferences, Ugly charity events, and more. On a case-by-case basis, holders will be able to have VIP access to these events, such as our artist's most recent upcoming event “Head Trip by Torrealba™”. More details are to be announced for that event.
Ugly People™: Gen 2 Collection
Similar to the Airdrop, we are not prepared at this time to release too many details here. What we can say is things are getting…EVEN UGLIER.
As we’ve always believed, promises are empty, but plans are executable. Here at Ugly People, we underpromise and overdeliver, which won’t change. So, in addition to all of the great projects we have in store over the next coming quarters and year, we will be continuing to explore deeper into additional important member offerings, things such as our place in the Uglyverse (metaverse), rewards programs/systems, and other solid utilities that benefit you as a holder.
