About two years ago, Alcamy launched with the mission of helping people learn new things quickly and empowering them to be successful through self-education.

We took an open, Wikipedia-like approach to curating content & information for self-learning. People described it as a Wikipedia + Coursera + Reddit mashup. Alcamy made learning and teaching using the resources already available on the web open, free and exciting!

Today, I’m very excited to share the news that Alcamy will be joining Parsegon. Parsegon develops tools for educators to better engage their students via online devices.

As a part of this change, Team Parsegon will be taking over Alcamy in its entirety. They will keep the service openly available to the Alcamy community while also integrating Alcamy with their existing platform.

I am extremely proud of our team (Armin Khayatian, Matthew Podolak and Haishan Qian) and everyone that supported us along the way for what we achieved over the last two years. Many thanks to Mathew and the team for welcoming Alcamy and integrating onto their fledging learning platform. I’m sure they’ll take the platform and its community to new heights.

On a personal note, while being available to help Alcamy transition, I’ll be dedicating more of my time to Clew (@clewhq), where we’re building a desktop app that helps large teams organize their tools and knowledge. Come say hello at onclew.com.
