The sewer linings help in repairing the cracks in the old pipes without replacing the entire sewer system. If you are planning to replace an existing sewer pipe that has recently started leaking, consider your options first. Whether you want a complete replacement of the sewer pipe or relining the existing pipe will work. While choosing the best sewer liner for a new installation or for repairing the old pipe system, it may be overwhelming for property owners to discover that there are a number of different sewer linings available in the market. Since it can be difficult to repair the liner of pipes, each of these methods and types of equipment is suitable for a particular type of sewer system. The different types of sewer lining systems are mentioned below.

Pull-in Place

This is one of the best lining methods for lining the pipes with large gaps and cracks. The material that is used in this procedure is the epoxy-saturated liner, which is fixed onto the surface of the pipe using the heat. For passing the liner through the pipe, two points are needed. From one point, the liner is inserted, and from other, it comes out.

Internal Pipe Coating

The professional installers use the internal pipe coating to repair the existing sewer pipe that has started leaking. Firstly, it is necessary to drain the pipe and to dry it. Then a thick epoxy coating is sprayed on inner surface of pipes that helps in sealing leaks and crack of pipe. This technique is used in commercial and residential areas because it does not involve any damage to the floors or walls for gaining access to the pipes.

Cured-in Place

Cured-in-place piping is a technique used to restore trenchless relining systems. Professional sewer and drain companies remotely line the portion of the pipe that is broken without having to dig a trench. Upon cleaning and drying the inside of the tube, the installers may add the liner to the cracked area. The liner is then cured with the spray of hot steam and gets in to all the cracks of the pipe.

Pipe Bursting

This technique is used on the pipes that are damaged severely and requires changing the entire pipe system. The professionals need a large field of access to repair this, which will be provided by creating a two to three-foot square access on one end of the pipeline. They start by putting a bursting head on one end of the pipe, and hydraulic power is used to drag the head through the pipe. As it moved ahead, it breaks the old pipe and opens up a new pipe behind it. This new pipe is made up of a plastic material that can stay up to 100 years and is impenetrable to any intrusion.

These were different types of sewer lining that are done to avoid changing the entire pipe system by repair the old system. One can use any of these methods depending on the damage that has occurred to the sewer system.
