The professionals need a large field of access to repair this, which will be provided by creating a two to three-foot square access on one end of the pipeline. They start by putting a bursting head on one end of the pipe, and hydraulic power is used to drag the head through the pipe. As it moved ahead, it breaks the old pipe and opens up a new pipe behind it. This new pipe is made up of a plastic material that can stay up to 100 years and is impenetrable to any intrusion.
