Is It Still Fashionable to have Brown Granite Countertops?

Although beautiful, brown granite is not usually the first choice in modern designs. Brown granite isn’t considered super modern or “in style” right now because of its more traditional appearance.

However, there are ways to make brown granite feel more contemporary, such as pairing it with lighter cabinets and backsplashes or even using white or grey wall paint. Again, this is not to say that brown granite cannot add value to your home; it is simply more traditional than lighter options.

What Cabinet Colours Go Well with Brown Granite?

Beige:

When it comes to cabinets, choose ones that are either lighter or darker than your counters. Like the backsplash, it’s more stylish to have your cabinetry contrast rather than match the countertops in a space, so keep that in mind.

For example, if your brown granite is on the darker side, a soft beige, white, or even grey cabinet colour may help to brighten and modernise your space. If you have super light brown granite counters, however, deeper, richer cabinetry is the way to go.

Brown:

The Brown wall colour scheme is a great complement to brown granite countertops. Although this isn’t particularly exciting, using a shade of brown in one space can look very nice without looking too matchy.

Another noteworthy feature is the use of dramatic black and wood cabinetry in this kitchen, which, while striking, does not compete for our attention.

White

Idea for the white wall colour to complement your brown granite countertops. Again, nothing revolutionary here, but the neutral white walls allow your counters and other finishes to stand out, which is always a plus.

However, you could try going a little warmer with the white you choose to make your room feel cosier.

Blue

Brown granite countertops are experimenting with the softer blue wall colour. As previously stated, going with a neutral or light hue will work well with brown granite, so feel free to experiment with your wall colour. Of course, if you have brown granite, you don’t want to go too bold with the wall colour because it may clash, so the softer the better.

Grey

Grey wall colour scheme with brown granite countertops. Although grey and brown don’t usually go together, the cooler undertones in the granite allow this space to mix the two without feeling out of place. The lighter cabinetry and mixed stone backsplash also serve as a nice transition from the darker cabinets.
