Reform Yourself

I used to hate the me I’d become

Every mirror and whisper swallowed me alive

Good riddance to that needy, and useless one

I’ve realized my potential, set a course for my life, and plans to thrive

Everybody, like I once was, focuses on their weaknesses and neglects their strengths. We never appreciate what we’ve been gifted with, perhaps most of us haven’t realized what those gifts are; which is why we fail to give thanks. Neglected talents slowly depreciate, creating another weakness, leaving you with more work on your plate. We must not ignore our fate. The day will come when you’re presented with your calling, and you have two choices: to ignore and hate, or embrace and concentrate. Two words that have become synonymous are “alone” and “home”. This is the mindset you must adopt to reach your throne. When the light ceases to glow, you will only then know, whether to hold on or let go. What separates me from them is that I’m willing to go through the dark, in order to leave my mark, willingly placing myself in a hell where disdain is ever so stark. You must remember what lit your spark, and why. Remember the nights when you couldn’t talk because you needed to cry. Forget their lies, they all want to see your ambition die. Understand that sometimes it’s best to not reply, and walk away with a sigh. “I WILL HAVE MY NIGHT!” you must be able to say with no fright, before you disembark from the light, as you leave everything else out of sight. You know I’m right. I’ve got your back, together we’ll prepare for attack, for your unforgettable comeback.
