Ants and insects technically aren’t animals. Neither are viruses, which are more than inanimate, but not quite cellular life.

If you boil it down, you end up trying to define life it self while making this list. Imho, it’s a fools errand unless done as an exercise in compassion.

Incompleteness theorem suggests you are always going to miss something in this kind of set making.
