I used to ask myself, “what is the meaning of life?” and I would come up with a whole bunch of answers. Yet I never indeed found one single right answer. Then time passed, I went to a college, fell in love, broke up, anguished, got a job, traveled places, and moved to a different country. Along the way, I forgot the question and stopped asking about it.

I don’t remember how I found it; the book called “7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” It was a beautiful book, and I admired the principles in it. I’ve been trying to apply them ever since. The first principle of seven habits was to be proactive by choosing how to respond in a given circumstance. The author of that book, Stephen R. Covey, expressed his idea about free agency, “we have the ability to consciously choose how we respond to any situation.” He was citing examples from Victor Frankl’s “Man’s Search for Meaning.” …

My summer books.

I thought it might help some of you wondering what books to read at the end of the summer. …

While I was reading Measurement for Evaluation in Kinesiology [by Matthew Mahar Ted, Baumgartner David Rowe, Andrew S. Jackson, and Jones Bartlett 2015], I remembered the story my Uncle Ryan told me the other day. Ryan was a big fan of soccer and spent hours and hours playing soccer with his friends in high school. Like any other boys who like soccer, he wanted to get on the school soccer team. But to get on the team, sports skills had to be tested. On the test, he was excellent at kicking, dribbling, ball controlling, passing, body controlling, balancing, and coordinating. …

My father was a great man. Even though he was not a member or a part of any religious group, I barely saw him smoking. …

I was happy and peaceful until this morning before I saw this assignment. When I saw there are assignments for ex339 and Hlth221 on my dashboard(there was nothing in the previous night), my adrenaline level has risen in my blood, and I felt my brain producing cortisol in a mill/seconds. I was not happy to do the school stuff on a memorial day(as we supposed to rest); however, did I have a choice if I don’t want to lose a point.

So what is Narcotic? As far as I understand, it is a drug or substance which is mostly made out of opium poppy plant’s dried seed, and it influences CNS. This kind of drug affects the Central Nervous System and makes you unconscious and unable to feel something, especially to be moved emotionally. It follows a lack of awareness or concern and indifference. Basically, you lose your control over mind, emotion, and body if you get addicted. There will be very little hope to get back to be healthy again. However, it is also suitable for pain relief (analgesics), to reduce coughing (antitussives), and to reduce diarrhea. That’s why many pain relievers include opioids (narcotic) in their ingredients, such as IBUPROFEN. …

One of my goals for this passing year was to read the Game of Thrones book. I was able to finish my last pages today. I’m happy and I wanted to share a few quotes from the book that I liked.

One of my goals for this year has just accomplished. I almost memorized all the movie itself, but the book helped me to travel through inside the minds and hearts of characters.
I want to share a few quotes that I liked from the book.

“We are only human, and the gods have fashioned us for love. That is our great glory and our great tragedy.” …

Before I came here at BYU-Hawaii, I never attended any business competition in my life. I used to think that business is such a different world. All I have to do is learn much about computer programming, web designing, and various technologies. I felt as soon as I study thoroughly in school, I will find an excellent job with a high salary, and my life will be happy ever after. …

I think that many of us hold ourselves from starting our business for we don’t have enough financial background to start our own business. Many of us believe that our savings help us to start the business one day. I often question myself that either this concept true or not. The more I think, the more I understand that thought is not true at all. On crowdfunding platform Patreon, there is a group of people called Chapo Trap House. …

Do We Really Need Money to Create Our Dream?

I was thinking about how young and broke people like me to find finance to start my dream company. Many answers were flying around my head and singing their songs to me. Borrow money from someone rich, lend money from the bank, save your money penny by penny, advertise your business to the investors, or run a fundraising campaign.

I went to my master google to get an answer to my question. I searched “how to make money with a low budget?”. Interestingly, I found many ways to fundraise money. What I found was crowdfunding. I also found that crowdfunding is a very famous business model nowadays. Many startup companies, entrepreneurs, artists, podcasters, and creators are starting and maintaining their businesses. On the article on the financial counseling web page QuickBooks, “8 Crowdfunding Sites: Which One Best for You?”, …
