MADE IN INDIA — APP THAT LET’S YOU KNOW PRODUCT IS MADE IN INDIA OR NOT!

Tensions between New Delhi and Beijing are at an all-time high following the recent confrontation at Ladakh that resulted in at least 20 Indian soldiers being martyred. The anti-China sentiments in India have led a few indie developers in the country to come up with new solutions that can help citizens reduce their reliance on Chinese products. Due to this, Remove China App, also came into existence, which got taken down later. Now another app named “MADE IN INDIA” is here to tell you where the product is INDIAN or not.

Aptly named ‘Made in India’, Noida-based developers Mohit Jain and Akshay Tank came up with this app idea. It is available in both English and Hindi. The developers claim that the app can identify products manufactured in over 115 countries.

“Scan the product barcode now to find out the origin country of your product. This free application provides an opportunity for those who wish to support and promote local products,” reads the app listing.

It works as it says. The app will display you the origin country of a brand even if the company manufactures the product in India. we downloaded the app and tried to scan the barcode of old Redmi Note 5 Pro and the app detected that is originated in China!
