A sports injury is a part of the game. Yes. I think there is no sportsman, who will claim that he never got injured during playtime or during training. However, every type of sports injury has a particular treatment. But there are some preventive ways to avoid sports injuries. Here we will discuss sports injury treatment and prevention of different types of sports injuries.

The most common sports injuries are Concussion, Achilles Tendinitis, Shin Splints, Groin Strain, pulled muscle and lower back pain. Treatment and prevention of these sports injuries differ from each other.

1. Concussion

Prevention: if you avoid contact sports or wear a proper head gear, you can prevent Concussion as Concussion is the result of a blow to the head. It is an injury to the brain.

Treatment: you may have a headache. Take acetaminophen and enough rest, if it does not improve visit a doctor.

2. Achilles Tendinitis

Prevention: Achilles Tendinitis, inflammation and pain at the back of the ankle, can be prevented by stretching exercises and strengthening exercises.

Treatment: it can be treated by strengthening your calf muscles and by R. I. C. E., an abbreviation for Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation.

3. Shin Splints

Prevention: Shin Splints, inflammation of the muscles around the inner side of the shinbone, can be prevented by wearing good shoes, stretching exercises and cross-training.

Treatment: its treatment includes anti-inflammatory medications, stretching, and ice.

4. Groin Strain

Prevention: Groin Strain is a strain in the muscles of the upper thigh at the time of running. The best preventive measure is to stretch properly before and after exercise.

Treatment: the best treatment options are anti-inflammatory drugs and R.I.C.E.

5. Pulled Muscle

Prevention: To prevent pulled muscle is to avoid exercise at the time of weakness and fatigue. Always stretch before and after exercise in order to avoid pulled muscle.

Treatment: Its treatment includes anti-inflammatory medication and R.I.C.E.

6. Lower Back Pain

Prevention: Warm up properly before work out. This will reduce the risk of injury.

Treatment: anti-inflammatory medication, stretching and R.I.C.E are treatments of lower back pain. But sciatica and bulging need fast medical treatment.

Conclusion

Thus we may conclude that though some injuries can be treated by using RICE, acute injuries need to be seen by a physician. You should consult a doctor if you experience severe injury or the pain continues for more than two weeks despite rest. If your pain spreads to other parts of the body or if you cannot move the injured part of the body, then don’t waste time and consult sports injury clinic in Gurgaon immediately.
