Thanks for this post, Eric. I found it while doing some personal research to see if there’s a cause and effect relationship between Cannabis consumption and high LDL levels. Cholesterol has not been an issue for me until my latest test results (after heavy smoking and taking tinctures daily for about 10 months). Now, it’s a problem. I use Cannabis for my autoimmune disease and much prefer it to the mainstream pharmaceuticals. But I am concerned. My primary care physician sent me to a cardiologist after getting the cholesterol results and he’s making me go through a battery of tests these days.
According to AHA, the body naturally produces all the LDL cholesterol it needs without getting more from food. Considering the part of the post where you dispel the idea of “good” and “bad” cholesterol, I was wondering if Cannabis counterbalances the negative effects of having high LDL cholesterol like plaque formations leading to the narrowing of the coronary arteries? Or could what is considered a healthy level of LDL cholesterol is too low for Cannabis users?
Much thanks for the post, and infinitely more for your consideration and time.
