Just after coming of a 8th place finish in the 2011 WSOP Main Event winning $782,115, Sam has now taken down the prestigious 2011 series of Late Night Poker TV Show.

The series on UK Channel 4 saw 32 players compete for the $150,000 cash prize and the coveted Late Night Poker trophy. Players in the series included fellow Team 888poker member and former Late Night Poker Champion, Padraig Parkinson and several other world-class players.

Sam’s performance in the series was quite spectacular. He took down his heat in dramatic style with a solid $50,000 chips and a guaranteed seat at the final table. Sam managed to make it to a heads up match against Luke Schwartz and with a strong chip lead advantage. Luke’s chip stack went all in pre-flop when he was dealt AJ against Sam’s KQ, Sam called and a 9,10 and J on the turn gave Holden his winning straight to win the series.

Sam Holden is Late Night Poker’s 10th champion and one of the youngest players to win. Named as “Last Brit Standing” in the WSOP November Nine and now winning the long running UK Late Night Poker, Sam has truly brought a spot light on British poker.

As a member of Team 888poker, Sam will join several other Team ambassador’s and online qualifiers this January at the 2012 World Poker Tour in Dublin and also at the 2012 Aussie Millions, the second largest poker tournament in the world.
