Welcome to the world of Tenchi Muyo!
In1992–93, Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki first came out to introduce some of the colorful
wacky characters that would enter our lives. Tenchi Masaki was pretty much an ordinary high school
student that lived with his father and grand-father. Training under his grandfather, Katsuhiko Masaki. Tenchi
was always told about the ancient demon that lived in the cave that was sealed off near his grandfather’s home.
Wanting to see if the legends were true, Tenchi was able to steal the keys to the lock from Katsuhiko during a quick
training before Chores.
Excited, Tenchi entered the old cave to find something old and rusted. It was a sword, but with that he was able to
run into the demon itself that was sealed away deep within. Fear giving him the boost that he needed, he escaped the place
to seal it up the best he could before returning home. Though he does take the handle of the broken blade with him as a souvenir.
That’s where the story starts for the OVA series!
Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki starts you out with a couple of characters that come out for the first few episodes.
Remember, the show came out for us to watch back in 1992–93, and it continued until 2017! Well you’d think
there’d be a lot of episodes for it, but sadly it was just on break for quite some time during each 2–3 episodes that would
come out. Though don’t get discouraged by that because while this was going on Hiatus, other ports of the lovable show was
being released for us to fall in love with! Shows like Tenchi Universe, Tenchi in Tokyo, a few movies and more beyond that!
Right, so you’re probably wondering why I’ve only mentioned Tenchi and his only two family members. Well you have a Space Pirate known as, Ryoko! She’s a spunky high spirited woman that knows what she wants, and that is Tenchi. Something about him caught her interest and she hasn’t given up yet. She comes out in the very first episode if you’re interested in her cute assertive personality. Now she isn’t the only one that tries to have Tenchi for herself. A beautiful and noble Princess from Space, Ayeka of Jurai has entered Tenchi’s Harem. Harem? That’s right, he’s basically having a harem made by each girl that ends up in his presence. Something about him just has the women fall for him. Like Mihoshi Kuramitsu, an officer with the Galaxy Police crash lands in the middle of Ryoko and Ayeka’s bickering.
Now this isn’t necessarily just a romantic, comedy anime. There’s also action and mystery as well!
Getting a little deeper into the story, we have an enemy slowly coming into the scene to attack both Ryoko and Princess Ayeka.
To stand in this person’s way, Tenchi will have to use his training from his Grandfather to protect the girls from all sorts of evil.
