The UNC Ob/Gyn Residency program is thrilled that over 100 signatures have been added to our Statement on Police Brutality and Anti-Racism since its release in May. Other residency programs have adapted the document and/or released similar statements, which is heartening to those who seek solidarity in the fight for equality.

We, the undersigned resident physicians and leadership at the University of North Carolina Hospitals Residency Program in Obstetrics & Gynecology, formally condemn the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery at the hands of police brutality and vigilantism. Their names lengthen an already unbearably long list of Black and brown Americans lost to white supremacy and racism and the individuals who perpetuate them.
