It does seem somewhat circular. Inner city gang violence in the US is typically gang-on-gang, and it’s enabled by ease of access to firearms. There is almost always inner city violence in cities where there is a great disparity between rich and poor. In Australia, however, this violence doesn’t typically spill over into gun related violence.
