Greetings, Undeads Community

Between March 18 to 22nd, the Undeads development team focused on refining key aspects of the game to enhance player experience and immersion. Significant progress was made in game design, client development, game server functionality, back-end systems, and more.

Game design enhancements included finalising pricing for all items in the in-game store (don’t worry no micro-transactions!), configuring the store sections, and adjusting loot drop configurations for improved balance. Work on improving NPC behaviour, refining loot distribution, and enhancing drop item logic was also done.

Back-end development included synchronizing game server data with backend systems and replanning (Minimum Viable Product) MVP tasks. Technical artist work involved reviewing assets, adding animations and visual effects to loot objects, and creating atmospheric effects such as night fog and gunfire lighting.

As development progresses, the team remains committed to delivering an immersive and engaging survival experience in Undeads.

Completed Work:

  • Shop GDD | Pricing: Finalizing the pricing for all items within the game’s in-game store.
  • In-Game Store: Configuring the store section for a seamless shopping experience.
  • Loot Drops Configurations: Adjusting loot drop rates and configurations for a balanced gameplay experience.
  • Receiving Data about Dead Zone Rounds from Server: Enhancing communication with the server for dynamic gameplay.
  • Sprint Stamina Consumption: Implementing stamina consumption for sprinting.
  • Integration NPC on Client Side (Weapons, Attacks): Synchronizing NPC behavior between server and client.
  • Move Connection to Backend Services to Gateway: Improving backend connection for better server-client communication.
  • Game Server ↔︎Backend Sync: Synchronizing game server data with back-end systems.
  • MVP Tasks Replanning: Replanning minimum viable product tasks for optimal development.
  • Offline Debug Player on the Test Scene with New Map: Testing player functionality on the new map in offline mode.
  • Assets Review: Reviewing and optimizing game assets for performance.
  • Loot Objects Animation, VFX: Adding animations and visual effects to loot objects for realism.
  • Night Fog: Adding atmospheric fog for nighttime settings.
  • Death Zone: Creating a visual effect for the dangerous “death zone.”
  • Light from Gunfire Effect: Adding dynamic lighting effects for gunfire.
  • Flashlight Effect Creation: Creating a realistic flashlight effect for improved immersion.

In Progress:

  • Drop Item Logics Spawn Point System | Filling of Container (60%): Enhancing the logic for dropping items and filling containers with loot.
  • Improving the Behavior of NPCs in the Build (Changing Value in Configurations): Tweaking NPC behavior for more dynamic encounters.
  • Location Loot Balance: Balancing the distribution of loot across different locations for a fair gameplay experience.
  • Loot System: Implementing a system for loot distribution.
  • On Map Loot Containers Generation: Generating loot containers on the map for players to discover.
  • Matchmaking Integration: Integrating matchmaking for balanced gameplay.
  • Configurations Rework [No Admin Variant]: Reworking configurations for improved gameplay without administrative access.
  • Map Assembling: Assembling the map for optimal gameplay and visual appeal.
