The Kings of Party Punk

Three-piece rock band Snowhaus is back in the scene after releasing a music video for their new single “Skeleton”. The trio is from Hadley, MA; comprised of Nathan Galloway on guitar and vocals, Andrew Ring on drums, and Nick Capezzuto on bass. Their debut EP was released back in 2015 since followed by 3 singles and an LP. Their discography is consistently fun and pop-punk-esque, and this new single is a great addition.
Don’t worry, I am not just disregarding my use of “Party Punk” as a sub-genre. In case you are unfamiliar with what this genre is, I’ll explain why Snowhaus reigns supreme.
Fast and bouncy guitar riffs: Snowhaus is notorious for catchy guitar riffs placed throughout the entirety of every song. The most impressive part is that there is only one guitarist when they play live and he doesn’t miss a note.
Intricate drumming: Never falling short of punchy, crisp, dynamic, and (most importantly) interesting. The drums make up a big part of what is memorable from their music.
Chugging bass-lines: The underlying crunchy/chuggy basslines give the music a punk feel. Typically, the bass follows the guitar and does its job of adding depth to the music without being a distraction.
Carefree and layered vocals: A standout feature of Snowhaus is the very present vocals. It is layered and very wide in the mix compared to the other instruments.
Thoroughly engaging song structure: Not one song is similar to the next. They are consistent in their instrument tone but each song is structured their own unique way. Multiple aspects of the songs are catchy, each their own kind of memorable.
Stage presence: If you ever see an opportunity to see these guys play live, definitely take it. Not only are their talents all equally impressive on their given instruments, but their stage banter is also impressive. They are great at keeping everyone engaged and present during the set.
I have yet to find a comparison that will do justice to the band since they have a very unique sound. If you like music that falls under rock, punk, pop punk, alternative, etc., then I promise you will love these guys.
