Hiking the El Camino de Santiago with some means (not a student/retiree) aka a bit of money.
I hike the Camino Frances recently and learned a lot. Most of which what I was told/learned online what mostly wrong. Partly becuase the camino changed (information out of date) but also beause the sources were focused on staying in the worst kind of accommodations (save money? relish the experience?) Well I tried both and I must say it’s not a spiritual journey and it’s okay to get a private room and use a hotel once in awhile. Spain is cheap in those parts and Alburque’s (hostels) provide many opporuntities at slightly higher prices for private rooms…which made all the difference on my trek Sept./October 2015.
