Ok, yes this was a great article and i understand where your coming from. The term “black culture” need not be confused with “gang culture”. What your telling me is that black culture is selling drugs, guns, trouble with police, clubbing, sex, using drugs, twerking, and trapping? oh and being poor. Blacks in America have no culture. I say this because, my family must have not gotten that memo. None of those things were around me growing up. We were not rich, but we made it by. I was not brought up in extreme pauperism. And slave culture, is there such a thing. They were slaves. I dont think slave owners were obsessed with their slaves. They had to get in slave business to control the slaves. Yea, they didnt want them speaking properly. They didnt want them to read. They didnt want them to think, just be subservient. There was nothing passed on or carried out by future generations of blacks. Culture means ways of living built up by a group of human beings and transmitted from one generation to the other, or the behaviors and beliefs characteristic of a particular social, ethnic, or age group. Im sure you dont think all blacks have hood broken english accents. But isnt that black culture to you? or that not all blacks hang in the streets sell drugs or pimp and club. Sounds like gang, thug culture. Didnt intend to come off as rude, but all that you describe as being black culture is gang activites and thug mentalities. I guess im not black them because the footage shown and example giving are not defining of this black citizen. Yes black, blacker than a trillion midnights. Not African American. I know nothing of Africa and my ancestory blood line of africa are hundreds of years old. Who knows what my bloodline has be tainted with since the beginnings of the slavery trade. Culture isnt something you can commercialize. Whould one think all Italians have mob ties? well from this all black people live the gang culture. Even blacks not from ghettos or poverty neighborhoods believe this is the archetype of them, this is what they need to be in order to get hood status. Or maybe its the media.
