Camp I

As I’m preparing my son’s first sleep away camp in a few weeks, I’ve been thinking a lot of various camps I’ve attended as a child growing up in Korea.

Unlike America, it was unheard of dropping your children a place so far away for a month or two or three.(not that you could be THAT far away anyway;Korea is a teeny country)

Because the money was always tight, I’ve done a lot of church sponsored camps where my mom and I were members and where she taught high school bible school.

While I resent always having to memorize bible verses before meals, I appreciated being near the nature a week in those summer years.

Cold watermelon that was cooled off in the mountain stream. Big mosquito bites. Huge bonfires that seemed so dramatic and magical.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
