The initial stage for a new game project takes off with market analysis. Our analysts, UA managers, product managers, and designers periodically monitor the mobile gaming market to follow the latest trends. We also focus on social media and general gaming trends to develop contemporary games. After gathering data, the game design team creates several game concepts for our next project. Most of our team members review these game design concepts in several meetings, and everyone examines them through their specialized department.

There are many factors in deciding to launch a project or not. But there are three primary ones we pay attention to most. The foremost importance is the fun factor. Does this concept look entertaining enough? If the answer is yes, we review it regarding marketability and sustainability. Our UA experts conduct marketability tests using mock-up ads tests and doing competitor analysis. The sustainability factor questions whether we can spare enough personnel and time for the concept. We have to scale our production to match our workforce, otherwise the time lost during the development process might result in delayed launches and loss of revenue.

We start the project planning phase if these three factors look satisfying enough. The project manager gathers data and collects feedback to prepare a calendar for the project. This calendar has deadlines for preparing game assets, design documents, and development cycles. Finding the most suitable artists and developers for the project is also vital to this planning phase.During development, it’s essential to manage a healthy feedback cycle. The artists share every step of their asset creation to receive feedback and optimize their output. We have to keep iterating until the production reaches a stage when revisions are harder to do.

On the other hand, developers should share APKs regularly to allow other team members to test game mechanics and request changes as early as possible before the game takes a solid shape. In the late development stage, our QA team tests the game builds meticulously to hunt down bugs and other issues. In this phase, our marketing team works with the art team to create store assets and advertisement graphics. As soon as we have a build with completed art assets, basic gameplay functionality, and fully structured technical SDKs, we soft-launch the game into the public in certain regions to gather player feedback. We collect and analyze player behavior through comments and gameplay metrics during this period. We release frequent updates to address any issues we find and try to iron out the game.

After we reach a satisfying point with our game’s soft launch, we release it globally and let our players experience the game in its final form. However, ‘final’ here mostly doesn’t mean final, as we keep pushing updates to improve the gameplay experience, eradicate bugs, or add new features. Unico Studio never rests in developing games, so even while our new product is still in its infancy, we start working on our next project by retracing the steps in this article. This is how our dream-making machine keeps pumping new quality games to satisfy our excellent players.
