It’s been said that “everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it.” I believe that the same can be said about being “too busy.”
Over ten years ago I decided to create more spaciousness in my life by ordering groceries online using delivery services. The first I used was okay…until I had a driver who was repeatedly obnoxious. I took this as a sign to try a more healthy, organic service, and I liked that my 2nd service didn’t require a signature so I didn’t have to be home. But they had a lot of “issues” such as not being able to fix my inability to receive delivery confirmation emails despite several months of “trying.” That’s when I switched to my 3rd (and current) service, SPUD.com.
I should clarify that I’m not the kind of person who goes around getting excited about companies. For example, Comcast, the company through which I will be uploading this blog, has been the bane of my existence for years. Just today I was told that their “Tier 2" engineers (after months of attempted fixes, and having me replace my equipment) said I’ll just have to live with the fact there is a 4 second delay when I try to fast forward programs on my X1 Platform remote boxes.
So it is a comparatively good feeling to focus upon something positive when I share about SPUD.com. This company is so functional that it radiates good energy on all levels. They focus upon healthy, SUSTAINABLE food (SPUD stands for Sustainable Produce Urban Delivery…and they let you know with each order how you’ve helped the environment in various ways (they focus upon buying local, and a delivery vehicle is better for reducing emissions than a bunch of individuals driving to stores).
Conveniently, you don’t have to be home to receive your delivery, and they use ice packs and dry ice to keep your cold and frozen food in great shape. The customer support I’ve received has been SO NICE that I almost feel like I’ve made a new friend. I tend to pay attention to whether or not employees care about their work, and SPUD.com has been an amazing example of a commitment to excellence. They’ve also been very receptive to my suggestions for further improving their service.
The food I’ve received while using their service repeatedly has been of great quality. In my latest delivery, yesterday, I noticed they even customized my bananas, including 1/3rd yellow, 1/3rd yellow-green, and 1/3rd green so during the next two weeks I’ll have a constant supply of ripe ones. I thanked them for this attention to detail in an email and they said it was based on requests they’d received from other SPUD.com users. I love companies that actually listen and respond to their customers instead of treating them like a pesky nuisance.
I could go on and on (their variety is excellent, they have an abundance of organic options, their prices are great, their user-friendly site has large images of the food, etc.) but I’ll cut to the chase and just say TRY THEM OUT! If they’re not available in your area, send them a request to expand (they didn’t deliver to my city when I first heard of them, but now they do). When you give them a try at www.SPUD.com be sure to use the coupon code CRSFO-SPUDER and you’ll get $20 off your order.
Enjoy the great food, as well as knowing you’re helping the environment while opening up more free time in your schedule to enjoy life!
