Indeed. What follows after the standardization is whether the community embraces and advocates for it. There is much that is standardized in JavaScript that is also shunned by the community.
What I didn’t say is that if, despite all other efforts to convince developers that classical OOP is a poor choice in JavaScript, developers still plan on using OOP paradigms, then they should certainly use class. I would just hate to promote that from the start.
