Depression is something that most of us have experienced in our lifetime, the degree and frequency of this issue obviously varies from person to person but nevertheless its a destructive force that needs to be delt with at the root. I firmly believe that unless someone is experiencing a chemical imbalance in there brain there is a root, multiple roots, that need to be untangled then isolated and finally ripped out completely to fix this issue. How do we discover the root cause? Can we identify the issue and solve the issue on our own, when we fix issues on our own its likely that we miss a few remnants that grow back or into larger roots. What if the problem causing our depression is out of our control? What if we feel trapped, cornered, scared, frustrated, alone. What if we feel like we are in the middle of the ocean screaming for someone to help us? screaming for days, weeks, months, years but no human being has the time, compassion, the knowledge, perspective or even cares to throw us a life raft or address it properly. Unfortunately and to the most extreme some people end up taking there lives. My brother was one of them, he suffered in silence which is the worst possible thing you can do. Please my friends there is a better way! Jesus can completely heal our depression, the situations causing our depression and he can this in a way that will completely rip out all those deadly tangled roots leaving none behind. He can do this a way that everything we negatively experienced ends up for our good, we can help others that are suffering. Can I ask? would you wish that same depressive issue on your worst enemy. I can honestly say that I have been in the pit more then once and I wouldn’t wish that punishment on the worst kind of human being. We are to help our brothers and sisters, help and show unbelievers that there is a way through Jesus, we are not to be selfish and hoard the truth when we come out of the other side clean.

John 10:10 NIV

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

1 Peter 5:6–7

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Isaiah 61:3

and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

Philippians 4:13 NIV

13

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Identify Your Roots!!!

In order to remove the roots that are causing Depression we need to discover and identify and expose the root causes., we need guidance. John 16:13 13 says But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. We need the Holy Spirt our counsel, we need to pray and ask Jesus what is causing the depression. Approach Jesus with an open mind and a clear heart, ask our Lord what is causing this depression, what is the root cause of the way I feel? After you have received your answer from our loving Lord, we can then move on to step 2, removing the root causes.

Rip out the roots!

Psalms 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Im not going to sit here and say this is going to be an easy fix, but nothing worth while is. I pray that our lord works with you in removing the root causes of your issues fast and in a hurry but sometimes it may take a little time. This is up to you and God of course. One of the tasks that you may have to overcome is the attachment to the root cause of your issue. Maybe its an addiction, maybe its a bad job that you are having trouble leaving, Maybe its a sexually immoral marriage, Maybe a bad relationship, friendship, habit. How connected are you to the root cause? I will tell you right now, you have 2 options working with God to remove the roots as fastly as possible or flirting with it and absorbing the abuse and destruction that depression brings. Please don’t be the person that is halfway in, lukewarm, we are children of god and not meant to live in misery. God has such joy, peace, love, fulfillment in store for you if you work with him. In work with him you will! Your going to rip out the roots, crawl out of the pit and come out of the darkness in Jesus mighty name! When Jesus was walking on the water and Peter said “Lord if it is you tell me to come out on the water” Peter had to actually get out of the boat on his own strength Jesus didn’t force him, he simply said “come” we have to do our part too. We may sink after we step out of that boat but Jesus will always be there to pull us up out of the water! He loves us so much, we are his children! So now the root or root is gone, what do we do now?

Maintain

Some of us that are more susceptible to Depression have to be very careful, vigilant in our relationship with God. We have to be on point guys! Prayer, Talking to God, Being thankful, Studying, Confessing scripture, Praise, Forgiveness, Love, Speaking well over ourselves. We don’t want to get back into the pit, there are always going to be issues in this world but God will save you everytime! John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. Give your morning to God, arm yourself before you step out into the world, this will only help you, I give you my word, I promise! You can devote an hour or anytime to God in the morning to arm yourself for the day, there is no time limit that qualifies or disqualifies you. If anyone needs to talk about a depressive issue, Im here for you. My heart bleeds for those going through Depression as Depression stole my dads life, took my brothers life and has taken years from me. I love all of you. Send me a message if you need to talk. May God Bless you
