Meet the Univers Team
Last week we kicked off our Meet the Univers Team series with our founder Yann Toullec. This week we are excited to welcome you all back as we feature our financial mastermind and CFO Olivier Piasentin! Olivier is a former business affairs, a successful movie producer and a co-creator for VR game studio Ikimasho. Olivier brings his mastery of excel and deep knowledge of the financial implications of immersive technologies to Univers. His previous experiences include working for Balenciaga, Umedia, Credit Agricole and Film Finance Canada. Without further ado, Univers is pleased to introduce you to Olivier Piasentin!
What is your professional background?
I used to be a business affairs in the movie industry, then turned into a producer after I started gathering more financing on my end than the clients that I worked for! I then turned my attention to VR — as an avid gamer and tech enthusiast.
What attracted you to Univers?
I always go for people, so first and foremost Univers is Yann T’s project and I support his vision for the next generation of interactive worlds.
How do you believe your expertise will enhance Univers?
I will deal with the publishing side, balancing investments and counterparts with a series of developers that will join Univers. It’s the financial/IP side to the SDK and I’m really interested in dealing with those types of complicated matters because of my movie background.
What are you looking forward to the most/what about Univers excites you the most?
I long to be able to just hang out in a zoo with friends and see how big, varied and surprising a zoo made by hundreds of creators can turn out to be!
