Aptos 2023 Reflections — A Validator’s Perspective
Now that we’ve stepped into 2024, it’s an opportune time for us in the Aptos community to look back on the remarkable achievements and significant growth that defined 2023.
As a validator in this vibrant ecosystem, I’ve witnessed firsthand the rapid advancements and the collective efforts that have shaped Aptos this year. This article delves into the key highlights and personal observations from the perspective of someone deeply embedded in the Aptos network.
Celebrating Global Achievements
The year 2023 for Aptos was nothing short of extraordinary. Each region within our community brought something unique to the table, contributing to the global success of Aptos. From the first-ever Aptos China Community Space attracting 86K listeners to the impactful Aptos Tokyo Meetup, these events not only strengthened our community bonds but also significantly raised awareness about Aptos on both individual and corporate levels.
In regions like Africa and Indonesia, community managers like Benjamin and Gusma organized lively and informative events, including Twitter space AMAs and meetups, which played a crucial role in keeping the community informed and engaged.
Notable Partnerships and Launches
As a validator, observing the strategic partnerships and product launches has been a highlight. The collaboration with Sushi Swap was a game-changer, bringing EVM builders and users closer to Aptos and fostering greater adoption. Another significant partnership was with Microsoft, which brought immense benefits to Web3 users, ranging from asset tokenization to Central Bank digital currencies. These partnerships not only demonstrate Aptos’ technological prowess but also its commitment to making Web3 accessible to a broader audience.
Pride in Aptos’ Progress
Reflecting on 2023, what makes me most proud as a part of Aptos is the strategic vision and execution demonstrated by the network. The developers’ success in optimizing the network for lower gas fees, faster transaction speeds, and enhanced security is commendable. Additionally, the growth and mutual support within the ecosystem projects are a testament to the strength and potential of Aptos.
Looking Ahead to 2024
As we step into 2024, the excitement within the Aptos community is palpable. The focus on propagating MOVE as the pioneering language for large-scale Web3 applications and the advancements in parallelism and consensus are areas I am particularly excited about. The vision of becoming the leading non-EVM chain is not just aspirational but increasingly attainable.
