What a Journey It Has Been
We are now almost reaching the finish line! From what was just an idea that existed only in our mind, to now a full-fledged project that we can now visually see and physically navigate through, this process has definitely taught our members at Untitled.jpg a lot. It’s amazing how, with a good amount of effort and hard work, one idea can turn into something real and tangible. From sketches and lofi-prototypes to user testing, our team has definitely put in a lot of effort to make Byte come to life. It is now finally time to get into the implementation level of things.
At the beginning of this week, we knew that one of the most important things that we had to focus on was organization. So far most of our time had been spent on throwing ideas back and forth, and letting our imaginations run wild during brainstorms. Although this may have been good for innovation and creativity, we needed to make solid decisions in order to move forward with our project. A few of the main focuses included the design of the profile page, design of the inbox, and the color palette. We finalized and set what we wanted exactly, which made the design aspect flow smoother.

A significant design decision that we made was to have the profile be accessible to the user at all times, and to have a simple way to obtain the profile. Our designers came up with the idea to have it as a drop-down screen, in which the user can pull down when he or she wants to see the profile, and push it back up to put the profile page away. That way, during any point of the Byte process, the user can locate important information such as his or her schedule and flake score.

As shown above, the profile is hidden once you swipe upwards, and the tasks behind it will appear.
Designing the rest of the pages became easier to do, once we had set the general tone of the app. We are using Javascript and HTML/CSS to activate all the nifty little buttons and functions of Byte.
Byte has definitely come a long way, and all the steps that we took to get here have been crucial to our progress now. As the quarter is now soon coming to end, I am proud to say that Untitled.jpg is soon to be finished with our final product, and we can’t wait to present it to our fellow peers. Thanks for tuning in, it’s been a rewarding journey.
Signing out,
