Made in Bangladesh: You heard it right!

Fashion is built on the image of beauty, glamour and style, Creations that not only make you look good, but feel good. The reality of the fashion industry is far less glamorous, A Reality no one will like you to know about.
It's called the Race to the bottom, where in the cheapest clothes are made and that’s why today many of your clothes bear the label “Made in Bangladesh”. Right now you might be thinking, Bangladesh? Yes, You heard it right. Bangladesh, World's second largest producer of clothes.
Over the past 30+ Years the Garment industry in Bangladesh has not only made cheap clothes for big brands, but also put lives of 1000+ workers working in these factories.
After 2013 incident of Rana Plaza, big brands came together to form Alliance for Bangladesh Workers Safety in Dhaka, Bangladesh. AIESEC in Bangladesh had an opportunity to meet and discuss about the issues that the industry is facing and the initiatives that Alliance is taking to prevent any such happenings in the future.
The Alliance is working with worker organizations, factory owners, NGOs, civil society, technical and engineering consultants, industry associations, educational and training institutions, and the government of Bangladesh to ensure that safety improvements are technically sound, impactful, and sustainable.
Every worker has a role to play in ensuring his or her safety and that of others in case of an emergency, and with that Alliance is currently providing trainings to Factory Management and the Workers through brilliant role plays and other entertaining ways.
