Welcome to the Era of Generative AI in Digital Marketing (Part 2)
Quick recap: In the first part of this blog post, I reviewed some of the recent generative AI tools that can help you scale your marketing efforts quickly, but that was only the tip of the iceberg. If you didn’t find the right tool for you in that list, don’t worry. There are other tools that are equally impressive and that can considerably reduce the costs of your marketing campaigns.
Since in the first part I focused mainly on image generators and text generators, I will now shed a light on other possibilities, including video, sound, 3D, and much more.
Make a Video
Make a video is a platform that enables you to generate videos using only a text description, among other inputs. That’s not all, though. The platform can also turn a static photo (or photos) into a video, and even produce variations of the same video, among other impressive capabilities. I have found this tool to be very useful when generating web ads, since videos tend to attract attention better than images. It certainly has the potential to take your ads campaign to the next level.
VALL-E
If you ever need a voice over for your videos, and you want to use your own voices without actually reading the script, then VALL-E is the answer. It was developed by Microsoft to help you clone your voice using only a sample of it — a few seconds of voice recording — to capture your voiceprint. This generative AI tool does not only do that, but also adds intonation and emotions to the reading, so that it sounds as human-like as possible. I have found the tool to be impressive, but it still requires a bit more work to get rid of that little bit of “machine voice” that it still has. Nevertheless, it can be very useful for short sound bites, or even to help people who can’t read or see access your text.
Lensa
Think of Lensa as a version of photoshop that understands the intent behind your commands — sophisticated on one hand, yet simplified on the other. It is a photo editing app that has powerful built-in features that can be used very easily by non-professionals in the image editing domain. Its numerous tools enable you to edit facial features, change backgrounds, remove imperfections, and a lot more, with only a few clicks. While it probably won’t replace your photoshop expert, this tool can save you a whole lot of time and money each time you need a small touchup to an image or photo.
MusicLM
This tool has not been yet released to the general public (due to fear of copyright infringements) but it seems to have a lot of potential. MusicLM generates music based on text descriptions. Similar to other generative AI tools, it was developed with the use of a very large dataset and a neural network. The tool can mix instruments, styles, and genres, and generate music on demand. I personally have not had the chance to test it, though I believe it can be great for adding sound effects to ads, podcasts, YouTube guide videos, etc. The possibilities are endless.
Point-E
If you’re impressed by what OpenAI has to offer up to now, wait till you hear about this tool called Point-E, which can turn text prompts into 3D shapes. You can ask it to make you a cup, a couch, a bridge, a perfume bottle, or anything else, and it will generate a 3D model out of that. The model then generates a point cloud (hence the name Point-E) and you can use it as a model. Needless to say, the value of this tool for designers, architects, carpenters, artists and so on is immense. In marketing, it can be used to help improve the customer journey towards the intended goal, and help companies retain their customers in the long run.
Beautiful.ai
Raise your hand if you’ve never found yourself needing to create a presentation with a tight deadline, and you are running out of time. Beautiful.ai can save the day. It is a generative AI-powered tool that can make slides based on your text description. Think of the time it can save you in looking for background images or transit slides. It also helps you maintain effective communications and keeps you on point. In our context, this tool can be very helpful for sales pitches, for example, or in making engaging Linkedin posts.
Conclusion
Naturally, two posts on Medium cannot even begin to cover all that has happened in the AI field in the past few years. We are witnessing such a flurry of new tools, to the extent that we are barely managing to test all of them. With the ever-growing selection of generative AI tools available, it is essential that marketers stay up to date in order to make sure their campaigns are as effective as possible. I, on my end, will be sure to keep you updated on the newest and most exciting generative AI tools on the market, so that you can always be ahead of the curve.
