The Bitcoin USA Luge Challenge, Part II
Greetings from the wind tunnel in San Diego, where we at USA Luge are doing final tests on our equipment before the Olympics in February in PyeonChang, Korea. We were delighted when some of the Crypto news networks discussed USA Luge’s commitment to bitcoin. (Here’s a post that was picked up announcing our BTC fundraising efforts.) Amidst some hilarious commentary on Offchain with Jimmy Song, Tone Vays wondered if “Bitcoin” itself can become an official sponsor of USA Luge if enough people chip in. Damn right it can!
The US Luge Team is funded via the generosity of our terrific long-term sponsors, whose products we help endorse and popularize via placement on our equipment, clothing, and in other ways. Tone Vays suggested that we come up with a collective goals, a la Patreon, to help bring the Bitcoin message to the Olympics in Korea. While we can’t wear commercial logos during the races at the Olympics, we happily set out this bitcoin challenge to our crypto fans.
For collective funding received in bitcoin prior to January 15, here’s what we’ll do.
5 BTC: The Bitcoin logo sewn on luge team hats; replica hats made available for sale through our merchandise shop.
10 BTC: The above, plus Bitcoin patch sewn onto all Luge Team (non-Olympic) outerwear in Korea and for the 2018–19 season (sorry, we can’t stick sponsorship on anything worn while competing in the Olympics.)
25 BTC: The above, plus BTC logo placed on top of sleds through the next 2 seasons (excluding Olympics, when not allowed)
50 BTC The above, plus BTC Logo on sleds next 4 seasons (excluding Olympics, when not allowed)
100 BTC Above, plus BTC logo on team skin suits next 4 years,(excluding Olympics, when not allowed)
21 million BTC: We find Satoshi, and get him on a sled.
