Style It // Box It // Send It : The Baby Edit
2018’s TOP 10, TRENDY (but useful) BABY GIFT BOX IDEAS (Sleep not included, sorry)

Hey, welcome back!
If like us, you had some friends who spent the Summer of 2017 ‘getting down’ and are therefore now spending Summer/Autumn 2018 ‘bearing down’ then this months main Style It // Box It // Send It , is just for you…
Babies babies babies ….. Waaaaaaaahhhhhhh, we mean, Awwwwwwww ….
Blogs can be hard to write for the masses, especially on this topic and we’re sure you will agree that gifting your time to a new parent is probably the most useful and considerate thing to do.
Of course, that isn’t always possible and when you can’t sit with your breastfeeding buddy whilst she sobs from searing nipple pain (and some other pain we won’t name) after 24–36 hours of child labour, you’re going to want to be damn sure you can give her a second best option to get her seeing that light at the end of the tunnel.
And lest we forget, it’s not just about the mammas here so although the dads or partners are (most definitely) NOT experiencing the physical pain post-labour, they ARE experiencing something pretty crazy, disorientating and mind-blowing here too. Let’s not forget you’re a team (and now soon to be a family)!
As exciting and wonderful as becoming a parent is, everybody needs a little help and support along the way. Showing your love and support in any kind of way, with your time OR with a thoughtful + useful gift (or both!) will only serve a positive purpose.
So…..Adios ‘“generic gift voucher”. Today is not your day Amigo…
And because there are so many different ways to gift a new parent, and if the new parents in question haven’t got anything specific that they would like from you, then U&O have pre-curated some stylish AND practical product collaborations to get your creativity buzzing.
These combinations have been designed with varying budgets and recipients in mind but REMEMBER, if budget doesn’t allow or you’re gifting solo then there are no rules here. Create your own awesome collection to make a gift box to suit with less products or more. It couldn’t be simpler!
Thanks for taking the time…
Us & Ours x
The Every-Day-Play box, £37.96

It’s literally ALL about play time in the early years. Babies can hear you from around 18 weeks, and will recognise your voice before they are born. According to the Book Trust, research proves that children who enjoy reading do better at school in all subjects PLUS reading to them from as early as the first weeks only serves well to enhance their bond with you. So don’t be scared to sit and read to them (even when they don’t look as though they know what’s going on!).
Our particular favourite in this bundle is the ‘Baby Play Every Day book’, once you’ve done eight books THEN their chosen play circuit 10 times over THEN just stuck them in the ‘circle of neglect’ (aka the bouncer chair) for 10mins — AND IT’S STILL ONLY 8.30AM!!, It is then that your friend will be truly grateful to you for buying them this gift! Take it, grab it, run like the wind.
- Roger Priddy, First 100 book set of 3 books — £14.99, Amazon
- Wooden shape sorter — £4.99, ebay

The Dad’s are Alright, £36.95

Because, lest we forget, they are also experiencing something pretty life changing too here. We are LOVING the Dad Pad for first time dads. Such a simple but well needed pack of info for any new dad. And in such an easy to read layout (nice and short to keep the old attention span peaked in order to soak up the vital points!).
- Your Baby’s First Word Will Be Dada by Jimmy Fallon — £4.96, School Depot
- The Dad Pad, £10,
- F*cking strong coffee — £9.99, Firebox
- Doting daddy mug, £12, Bespoke Verse
Monochrome Mini trio, £40.45

In the very first few months of their little lives, babies can only see in black and white so this is your chance to gift your friend with something totally cool and on-trend, without it just being style over substance. The muslins are a gorgeous gift simply on their own but should you wish to create a monochrome gift set then we recommend the below trio to compliment each other.

The ‘Breast’ Care products on the market for new mums (get it? ‘Breast’?!) £42.49

If your recipient is up for giving breastfeeding a go then why not help her along the process with a stylish and practical mix of these milk guzzling gifts. We believe that if you had to gift a breastfeeder anything it would be this trio, something for the physical discomfort, something for the emotional reassurance and something to remember what the hell has been going on in the last 24 hours!
- Tiddler Tracker leather Feeding journal, £19.99
- Natural Birthing Company Breastfeeding oils — £12.00
- Yesmum MILK Breastfeeding affirmation cards, £10.50
The Stylish Baby Box, £46.90

If your recipient is very into style and not so into garish colours then this little mix of gorgeous grey tones is perfect. The photo album is our fave as you can fill it with pics of all of the family or ‘need to know’ friends so that the baby can slowly learn and become familiar with the people that make up their world.

- Sass and Belle Cushion . Sweet Dream Moon, £13.00, This Modern Life,

Hush Little Baby Box, £47.32

So getting a baby to sleep (and to stay sleeping) are two of the biggest challenges new parents will face… it’s exhausting… and it feels never-ending.. But chin up…this too shall pass and soon enough you’ll be dragging them out of bed whilst they kick and scream as they so vehemently protest ‘‘I don’t want to get up , I’m NEVER talking to you EVER again!!’ (every cloud)..

- Each Peach Pear Plum, £3.83, Book Depository,
- Meetoo unicorn and muslin soft toy — £8.49, Alice and Joseph
Parent, Baby & Sibling, £54.18

A little something for all members of the family, after all, everyone deserves a little fuss right now. Our fave is the ‘ssshing machine and new baby activity book for siblings’. There isn’t much on the market to help make new siblings feel at ease with the new arrival so this will come as a welcome gift for new parents of their 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th child! (only the brave!)
- Parenting book £14.22 wordery

A Moment for Mum Luxe £66.13

After all, you deserve it! If you know a mum, perhaps a colleague or friend that you know has too much baby stuff already and you would like to give something cool and useful to (just for them) then look no further than this combination of gorgeous items. Our two picks of the bunch is the hand cream (chapped hands from 10 hand washes a day post nappy changes AND bottle washing really is a pain!) and the keepcup coffee cup, a new mum will likely NEVER have a full, hot cup of coffee for at least a year so they’ll need a travel cup. Giving them the gift of being able to enjoy a full cup of coffee will make you their bestest friend in the whole wide world! Really…it will.
- Mama Bear personalised Tote Bag, £22.00, Clouds and Currents,

Trendy baby bundle £68.49

All of these items are practical and WILL be used, yet just so happen to be stylish and colourful all at the same time. If orange doesn’t happen to be your fave colour then rest-assured most of these items come in different shades so pick whatever takes your fancy. Our favourite is the soft touch tiger book from the Wee Gallery which really stimulates baby’s little curious minds right from the get-go.
- Cellular Baby Blanket (range of colours) — £18.00, Kidly,

The Stylish Baby Deluxe — £110.94

A beautiful mix of whites and greys will especially work a treat for corporate and group gifting, plus it has the benefit of a unisex feel so no stress if you don’t know the sex of the baby!
Our favourite two gifts are the teether and the tracker book. Marble marble marble — it’s very on-trend and why not match your baby’s teething ring to your kitchen work surface? Makes perfect sense to me ;) its Instagram ready and perfect for the most discerning of gums. The perfect addition to a collective gift.
And OBVIOUSLY your friend will need to write feeds and nappy changes down (in something other than a scrap of paper you find in your man drawer). Then when they have their next kid, it’s all there in black and white to compare how their second baby isn’t meeting the expectations set by the first baby. The gift that just keeps on giving and is incredibly smart in their multitude of plain colours.
