The value of creation

I have realized that creating is better than not creating. Even if what your creating is shit. It forces one to step outside of the comfort zone and fully commit to making something. And now, in 2016, I believe that a fundamental part of creating is sharing. If you create, you must share. Sharing is actually where the real value is. It opens doors of connection, criticism and critique.

Sometimes the sharing part is much harder than the creation. The fear of failure, disapproval and self doubt are real barriers to creating. At least for me.

I am perfectly capable of both creating and sharing but the act of sharing sometimes cripples me.

I have taken to apps like snapchat and at times posting temporarily to Instagram and then promptly deleting it. I think these have value but I feel as though they are a sort of a cop out mechanism that I have employed so as not to create lasting content. I love creating temporary content but I do believe it is time to start thinking about my lasting content a bit more.
